As we usher in the next generation of technologies, a paradigm shift has already begun in transportation. Driven by customer and economic demands, technological development, and the need to optimally use the infrastructure we already have, the efficacy of Texas’ transportation system will depend upon the ability of our public agencies to innovate. Emerging technologies – including connected and automated vehicles, predictive data analytics, and sensor-based infrastructure – necessitate expertise, public-private partnerships, and a pilot-learn-scale model of deployment.
Individually, public agencies have limited capacity and capability to develop mobility solutions and prepare our infrastructure for the coming transformations. Together, we have the ability to leverage our resources, expertise, and solutions to provide a safe, reliable, and seamless transportation experience to customers. Through collaboration and innovation, Texas is committed to pioneering innovative partnerships to optimize funding that delivers a mobility experience of transportation options and equitable access within a thriving economy.

Formed in December 2016, the Texas Innovation Alliance (the Alliance) is an action network that enables public agencies, research institutions, and industry representatives to leverage collective talent, resources, and solutions towards addressing the state’s most pressing mobility challenges.
With a people-first, problem-based approach, Partners of the Texas Innovation Alliance are committed to working together to align local, regional, and state priorities for the benefit of Texas communities. Recognizing the value of collaboration, the Alliance stands together in the pursuit of innovation and applies an entrepreneurial approach to be the leading model in developing new mobility solutions.
